Services:
- Nanyang Campus Grid Certificate Services
The Nanyang Campus Grid Certificate service is a web-based globus grid certificate service created for the campus grid Certificate Authority (CA). It will be beneficial for both the CA administrator and the grid users. The CA administrator can sign the certificates directly in the page while the grid users can request for the certificate without having the trouble to login to a local resource and type everything in command line. A grid certificate is needed for every user who needs to access the Grid resources connected through Globus middleware.
- Grid Enabled Evolutionary Computation
A rising trend in the science and engineering world is in the utilisation of increasingly high-fidelity and accurate anaylsis codes in the design analysis and optimization process. In many application areas such as photonics, electromagnetics, aerospace, biomedical, micro-electro-mechanical systems and couple-field mutlidisciplinary system design processes, a computationally expensive simulation procedure such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is generally required. The emergence of Grid Computing has inspired the deployment of such problems into the physically or geographically distributed resources to save the computational time needed making use of the parallelism idea. A simple grid portal for job submission has been specially designed for some benchmark optimisation problems as well as an expensive aerodynamic airfoil design problem.
- Grid Application Deployment Kit
This project presents a toolkit for deploying applications on Grid environment called Grid Application Deployment Kit (GAD Kit). It assists engineers and scientists to solve the problems on the Grid environment effectively based on robust Grid technologies and an API based on GridRPC, a Remote Procedure Call standard interface for Grid-enabled applications. In this work, we also present mechanisms to reduce communication cost and schedule GridRPC requests across multiple clusters on the Grid.
- POV Ray Rendering Farm
This project presents a web-based POV(Persistence of Vision) Ray job submission utilising the PVMPOV(Parallel Virtual Machine POV Ray) software. Authorised users can submit all the required files for their image rendering, and get the result on the screen or come back later to fetch it.
- Problem Description File (PDF) Generator
The Problem Description File (PDF) generator is an automated tool to assist user in generating the PDF corresponding to a problem/routine to be deployed in NetSolve. PDF is the mechanism through which NetSolve enables services for the user. The NetSolve distribution contains the source code for MA28, ITPACK, qsort, and a subset of BLAS and LAPACK routines. For other routines, the user has to write their own PDF.
Monitors:
- Ganglia Monitoring
Ganglia is a scalable distributed monitoring system for high-performance computing systems such as clusters and Grids. It is based on a hierarchical design targeted at federations of clusters. It leverages widely used technologies such as XML for data representation, XDR for compact, portable data transport, and RRDtool for data storage and visualization. It uses carefully engineered data structures and algorithms to achieve very low per-node overheads and high concurrency. The implementation is robust, has been ported to an extensive set of operating systems and processor architectures, and is currently in use on over 500 clusters around the world. It has been used to link clusters across university campuses and around the world and can scale to handle clusters with 2000 nodes.
- Campus Grid Accounting :NTU NGPP PRAGMA
This project aims to create a prototype for an accounting system for grid resources usage between organisations. At the end of the project, we expect to have a system which has implemented the economic model of grid such as monitoring, metering and charging for resource usage. The page in this link will show the currently developed monitoring system in our campus grid.
- LDAP Explorer
Our Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is implemented by utilising the Monitoring and Discovery Service (MDS) of Globus Toolkit. MDS is the information services component of the Globus Toolkit and provides information about the available resources on the Grid and their status. Through this link, the user can explore the hierarchy as well as the information about each resource in our campus grid.
